On the Field
The ballgirl is most recognized for the work she does on the baseball field, sitting on the base lines fielding the foul balls and giving them to eager fans in the stand. But when we are not sitting on our stool on the warning track, we are selling the Phillies Charities 50/50 raffle tickets at home games, or leading the Red Goes Green Team in our efforts to recycle and go green! We also make appearances throughout the community, representing the Phillies as a face of the organization. We represent ourselves as athletic, educated, and outgoing young women involved in the sports industry, and serve as potential role models to kids, as well. The purpose of this blog is to document my time spent here at the ballpark, and within the community.
Off the Field
I am currently in my third year full-time student at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA as a Communications major concentrating in Corporate and Public Relations. I will be spending my first and only fall/winter, 6 month Drexel co-op (internship) with the Philadelphia Eagles starting in September, and I could not be more excited! I hope to land in a career within the sports industry after completing my higher education, and continue to work in such an exciting field of business.
I also work part-time at a popular Italian restaurant in my hometown, and have been for 2 years. I love talking with customers and getting to know the members of my community through positive human interaction!
My favorite thing to do when I'm not at school or at work is to spend time with my family. I am very close with my parents and my brother, and they are the greatest support system anyone could ever ask for. They give me strength when I need it most, and I can always count on them for anything! Laughing is our favorite activity and we can make fun out of anything. My mother is my best friend and she has taught me everything I know about life and living with a positive outlook. My father is the reason my standards for men are very high, and I love him unconditionally. My brother Ryan was put on this earth to be my best friend, and he is just that. I love him to the moon and back! And for my best friend Lauren, we were meant to be best friend because our parents wouldn't be able to handle us as sisters! You are my family, and you're the best!
As you can see, my life is very busy! I am a ballgirl, a student, a server, a daughter, and a friend.
I love to laugh and make people smile through genuine kindness and compassion, and my bubbly personality always helps, too! If you see me around the stadium or out in the community, feel free to say hi! :)
My adorable dog Chloe passed away, 6 weeks short of being thirteen years old. She lived a wonderful, long life and it was her time to go. She was my first dog, and she was the greatest thing to happen to my family and I. No one understands the value and joy a pet brings you until you have one and lose one. We saved her, and she saved us, and I will miss her every day. Here's to you, pup.
